Functions

  • Anti – Inflammatory: It can reduce the production of inflammatory mediators, thus alleviating inflammatory responses in the body. It has shown anti – inflammatory activity in various in – vitro and in – vivo experiments.
  • Anti – Tumor: It has multiple anti – tumor effects, including inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing angiogenesis. It can interfere with tumor – related signaling pathways to prevent the growth and spread of tumors.
  • Neuroprotective: It is a RORs agonist that can improve memory loss. It exerts a neuroprotective effect by acting on pathological features such as oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and synaptic dysfunction, and has a beneficial effect on neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
  • Metabolic Regulation: It can promote carbohydrate metabolism1. In animal experiments, it has been found to counteract the adverse effects of a high – fat diet, improve metabolic dysregulation, and prevent post – prandial hyperlipidemia. It also shows potential in improving hyperglycemia and insulin resistance.
  • Antioxidant: It can scavenge free radicals, reduce oxidative stress in the body, and protect cells from oxidative damage. This antioxidant effect is beneficial for maintaining the normal function of the body and preventing diseases related to oxidative stress.

Applications

  • Pharmaceutical Industry: It has potential applications in the development of drugs for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, such as anti – tumor drugs, anti – inflammatory drugs, and drugs for neurological diseases. Its neuroprotective and metabolic – regulating effects also make it a potential candidate for the prevention and treatment of diabetes – related complications and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Health Products Industry: It can be made into health products to help improve memory, enhance the body’s antioxidant capacity, regulate blood lipids and blood sugar, and support overall health. It is suitable for people who want to maintain healthy brain function, improve metabolic health, and prevent chronic diseases.
  • Food Industry: It can be used as a natural antioxidant and preservative to extend the shelf life of food products. It may also be used to improve the nutritional value of food, as its antioxidant properties can help protect the nutrients in food from oxidation. However, its bitter taste needs to be considered when used in food, and appropriate formulation adjustments may be required.
